Hawea's success can be traced back to her dam, Idlewild, a half-sister to accomplished performers Caymans and Adroitly. Cameron, along with his business partners, acquired Idlewild a few years ago, and she has since proven to be a valuable addition to their broodmare band.
"Idlewild has been a gem for us. She's produced several nice horses, including stakes-placed Romilly and now Hawea. We're grateful for her contribution," Cameron said.
A History of Success
Cameron's expertise in selecting yearlings has led to numerous successes over the years. One notable example is Marquise, a Group One winner and producer, purchased for Oram and Glenn.
"Marquise was a standout. She not only won at the highest level but also produced another Group One winner, Hiyaam. It's these kinds of successes that keep us motivated," he added.

With a full sister to Hawea set to be offered at Karaka in January, expectations are high. Cameron believes she, too, possesses the quality to make a mark in the racing world.
"She's a high-quality filly, just like Hawea. We're excited to see what she can achieve," he said.
